Adidas Busenitz (Skateboarding)

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , on July 25, 2009 by RMJ

Not to counter our previous post with P-Rod (that was beautifully done), Nike SB seems to have a few evident competitors. Not only Converse (can you call it comp, if Nike owns Converse?) but, the brand with 3 stripes decided to make their mark in the skate community and they are doing a hell of a Job.  Recreating classics with skate-spacific additions, it didnt take much for RMJ to gravitate towards the lifestyle friendly line. Move over Nike SB, as ive always said…Nike isnt the only brand that created classics!  The pair that really caught my attention was the Adidas Busenitz. I dont skate so I couldnt give you the breakdown on how they wear, but the brand + athlete connection to create a nostalgic model, spoke volumes for me (I played soccer for more than half my life). Soccer inspired infused with skate…lifestyle for me. Couldnt ask for anything better…

GOURMET S/S 2010 L ‘Otto.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , , , , , on July 1, 2009 by RMJ

Showcased at Bread & Butter Berlin, Gourmet (which has been a favorite brand from day 1) has presented a new style in their 2010 line  up called the L ‘Otto. We all remember the introduction to their very controversial line up back in 2008, that had a heavy influence  from Jordan silhouettes. Now, they have revamped with all new innovative approaches, taking very small ques from a range of classic silhouettes. Here, the L ‘Otto takes inspiration from the classic duck boot and fuses it with a sneaker (such as the outsole with an air bubble). The L ‘Otto is available in a  grey, red, aqua, and salmon colorwayS. Ill take those in a red grey or salmon, and I’d love to see a chick pull the salmon colorway off. (pics via. Highsnobiety)

Goodmorning 1st and foremost.

I checked out the latest interview Complex did for thier “Cut N Show” segment, on Nin Truong for Maiden Noir. While listening to the interview, I found that one thing he is most focused on, is creating timeless pieces. Pieces that he hopes will surface in other generations and still have the same affect as if it was just purchased.

“One of those, yah know, your grand kids will find it in the closet, and will think that your so cool, cause you used to own a leather jacket…”

very admirable desire. Something I completely agree with…

Thank you Nike.

…again in one week to. Well for me and my peers as of late, combining todays contemporary mens fashion is at an all time high. For the most part, sticking to those brands that offer garments that are of higher quality, yet qualifies for functional, casual, and everyday uses. Well here, Nike makes that transition, a supposed tier-0 (whatever that means these days), with a wool oxford Air Force 1. I am lookin to be broke, for these are screaming for a vintage chino or twill pant…

DUB-TAPS. A/W 08.

SO IMPRESSED with A/W 2008. W-taps is known for their detailed replicas of army inspired garments. Every season they tend to stray into other realms yet always keeping their identity. You can see the heavy inspiration from American pastimes. For me, this royal blue, rebel type biker inspired leather is very nice. Normally I would never look twice at something like that, but here, I was completely captured. This season, like others, they offer an extensive line from apparel as well as accesories, never leaving anything behind. Collaborations with Wacko Maria, Magical Design, and ofcourse, Porter.

Meet Patrick and Joe Suede.

Posted in Uncategorized with tags , , , , , on September 1, 2008 by RMJ

New from Silas, the Patrick Suede and Joe Suede. Both heavily inspired by classic footwear, but the excecution couldnt be better. The Patrick Suede is extremely nice, which resembles a classic chucka boot. The Joe Suede is your classic slip on. Both models available in a brown and blk colorway, and I must say, these are very nice. I hope Oki-Ni gets these. For now they are available at Dedue
