Adidas Busenitz (Skateboarding)

Not to counter our previous post with P-Rod (that was beautifully done), Nike SB seems to have a few evident competitors. Not only Converse (can you call it comp, if Nike owns Converse?) but, the brand with 3 stripes decided to make their mark in the skate community and they are doing a hell of a Job.  Recreating classics with skate-spacific additions, it didnt take much for RMJ to gravitate towards the lifestyle friendly line. Move over Nike SB, as ive always said…Nike isnt the only brand that created classics!  The pair that really caught my attention was the Adidas Busenitz. I dont skate so I couldnt give you the breakdown on how they wear, but the brand + athlete connection to create a nostalgic model, spoke volumes for me (I played soccer for more than half my life). Soccer inspired infused with skate…lifestyle for me. Couldnt ask for anything better…

DC has alot of talent to offer. Whether it be talented mc’s, singers, artists, photographers or designers. I mean, you name it we got it.

Kingpin Slim aka The Kitchen Magician is one of those talented mc’s, who has been making some noise in the city for some years now. He’s done a great job keeping himself relevant in the streets from mixtapes, street singles and much more. He first caught my attention by being the first DC rapper featured on the infamous “Unsigned Hype” section of The Source magazine in their 200th issue.

He is now Beaming Up all over DC and the east coast, with the hit single “Powder for the Babies.”

The Paxtons x ANML HSE @ ATMOS

The Paxtons will be performing at Atmos NYC tomorrow, July 21st for their latest body of “WORK“. The event goes from 8-10PM and will feature free giveaways as well as free drinks provided by Red Bull and Smirnoff. They’ll also be showcasing and vending their new tee that is designed and produced by ANML HSE.

STATS @ Sneaker Pimps

Normally we wouldn’t care much for a post like this, but this up-and-coming sneaker customizer caught our eye. He managed to customize these blazers and make them look dope!  Most customs that I have come across are usually not the most wearable (nor attractive) footwear pieces, but in all honesty the artist, Stats, was able to apply his art on a sneaker as a canvas and still make them wearable.

Very well done sir.

The NYC based artist, Stats, is completing his studies at one the top design schools in the country, RISD, and is on pace to having a promising career so I suggest you keep up with him. Make sure to check him out at Sneaker Pimps DC this Saturday in order to view various other custom kicks.
